Working Principle
Physical adsorption (primary function): This is the most fundamental purification mechanism of activated carbon. Activated carbon has a very large specific surface area, typically 500–1,700 m²/g or higher, along with countless micropores. As water flows through, impurity molecules such as organic matter, colloids and certain metal ions are held by intermolecular forces on the inner walls of the carbon’s micropores and thus separated from the water.
